Banana Daiquiri
Material Components
- 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce sugar syrup
- 1 1/2 ounces aged column still rum
- 1/2 banana
- 4 ounces crushed ice

Preparation
- Put everything into a blender.
- Blend at high speed for at least 30 seconds, until smooth.
- Pour unstrained into a chilled coupe.
Notes
This might be a blended drink, but it's not the frozen, saccharine sweet mess you'll find on Bourbon Street. The addition of banana to the daiquiri template grants a subtle body, and choosing a ripe banana really sets off the flavor of the rum.
This is one of the first exotic cocktails I ever made, and it was fun to revisit it after having some more experience under my belt. I think I liked it even better this time, made with Ron Zacapa 23 rum.
