Beachcomber's Gold (Waikiki)
Material Components
- 1 ounce lightly aged column still rum
- 1/2 ounce lightly aged pot still rum
- 1/3 ounce fresh lime juice
- 3/4 ounce passion fruit purée
- 1/2 ounce honey mix
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 6 ounces crushed ice

Preparation
- Put everything into a blender.
- Blend at high speed for no more than five seconds.
- Strain through a fine-mesh wire seive into a coupe glass lined with an "ice shell" forming a hood over the glass.
- Serve with short straws.
Notes
Don the Beachcomber changed the Beachcomber's Gold recipe countless time over the years (decades!), and this final version is a bit sweeter and less medicinal than its predecessors. Maybe it's my modern palette, but this one's my favorite of the bunch.
Rum used: Plantation 3 Stars White Rum.
