Gourmet Coffee Grog
Material Components
- 24 ounces coffee
- 4 ounces heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 twist orange peel
- 1 twist lemon peel
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 pinch clove
- 6 ounces lightly aged column still rum

Preparation
- Cream two teaspoons butter with two tablespoons brown sugar.
- Sprinkle with a pinch each of salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
- Put one teaspoon of this mixture, one-inch twists of lemon and orange peel, and one and a half ounces of rum into each of four six-ounce pre-warmed mugs.
- Stir well.
- Add one ounce cream to each mug.
- Fill with hot coffee.
- Stir to blend, and serve immediately.
