Headhunter

Material Components

  • 1 1/4 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 1/4 ounces papaya nectar
  • 1/2 ounce peach nectar
  • 3/4 ounce honey mix
  • 1 1/2 ounces aged blended rum
  • 1 ounce black blended overproof rum
  • 3/4 ounce aged column still rum
  • 4 ounces crushed ice

Garnish

pineapple finger and red and green cocktail cherries

Preparation

  1. Put everything into a blender.
  2. Blend at high speed for five seconds.
  3. Pour unstrained into an ice-filled headhunter Tiki mug.
  4. Garnish with a pineapple finger speared to red and green cocktail cherries.

Notes

You may wake up in a daze after an encounter with the deadly Headhunter...if you wake up at all!

Something didn't quite seem right with this one. I'm not sure if it's the rums I chose or the fact that I made my own peach and papaya nectars, which are likely not nearly as sweet as store-bought. Next time I will try punching up the sweet factor and switching up the spirits a bit. Rums used: Lemon Hart 151, Don Q Signature Release 2005, and Hamilton 86 Demerara.
