Krakatoa
Material Components
- 1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce grapefruit juice
- 1 ounce apricot nectar
- 1/2 ounce falernum
- 1 teaspoon coffee liqueur
- 1 1/2 ounces aged column still rum
- 1 1/2 ounces aged blended rum
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 2 ounces kona coffee
- 8 ounces crushed ice
Vessel
large snifter or Tiki mug
Garnish
elaborate arrangement of lime shells, cocktail cherries, flowers, coffee beans, and and orange slice
Preparation
- Put everything—except Kona coffee—in a blender.
- Blend for up to ten seconds.
- Pour unstrained into a large snifter or Tiki mug filled with ice cubes.
- Float coffee.
Notes
The sky is once more alight with Krakatoa's fire! Flee the eruption if you can, but take a drink with you. It may very well be your last!
Rums used: Don Q Signature Release 2005 and Hamilton 86 Demerara Rum.
