La Florida Cocktail

Material Components

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Italian vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce white créme de cacao
  • 1 teaspoon orange Curaçao
  • 1 teaspoon grenadine
  • 1 ounce lightly aged column still rum

Preparation

  1. Shake well with ice cubes.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  3. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.

Notes

Another great drink from La Florida bar in Havana. This one shouldn't work at all given the ingredients involved but somehow comes together with a splendidly unique flavor.

Rum used: Bacardi Superior Heritage 1909.
