Material Components

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Demerara sugar syrup
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 3 ounces aged blended rum

Garnish

mint sprig and spent lime shell

Preparation

  1. Swizzle everything in a double old fashioned glass partly filled with crushed ice.
  2. Add more crushed ice to fill.
  3. Swizzle again until glass frosts.
  4. Garnish with a mint sprig and the spent lime shell.

Notes

The Noa Noa is Beachbum Berry's take on the Queen's Park Swizzle, a 1920s specialty of the Queen's Park Hotel in Trinidad. It's deceptively simple, with a sharp profile that mellows nicely as the ice melts, letting the flavor of the mint come through.

Rum used: Hamilton 86.
