Samoan Fog Cutter
Material Components
- 2 ounces fresh lemon juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1/2 ounce orgeat syrup
- 1/2 ounce brandy
- 1/2 ounce gin
- 1 1/2 ounces lightly aged column still rum
- 1/2 ounce cream sherry
- 8 ounces crushed ice

Preparation
- Put everything—except sherry—in a blender.
- Blend for up to ten seconds.
- Pour unstrained into a Fog Cutter mug.
- If necessary, add more ice to fill.
- Float sherry.
Notes
Slight tweaks can make or break a cocktail. By dialing back the rum and brandy in the Fog Cutter, Trader Vic brought his famous drink into a delightfully smooth balance. The Samoan Fog Cutter is my favorite version of the classic.
